The Blackburn Outpost Rear World Touring Rack is like John Wayne; darn tough, but unlike John Wayne, is slim fitting and lightweight.

Blackburn's Outpost bike rack is designed to carry all your gear on your bike, safely and securely behind your back during your cycling adventures without fuss, and still be up for the return leg.

To that end the Outpost is tough but lightweight, made from Easton Scandium and aircraft grade 6061 aluminium tubing, and can be loaded with up to 25kg of kit.

Adjustable length legs means that it's compatible with 26, 29 or 700C wheeled bikes, and the design of its 'legs' leaves plenty of room around the hub for bikes fitted with disc brakes.

Its mounted using either frame mounts - if your frame has the necessary threaded eyelets - or on an extended extra-long rear quick release skewer, which replaces the one that holds your rear wheel in place.

Being grey, it's not the most beautiful thing but, despite the fact that it will be covered by panniers and a rack-top bag, how you look is the least of your cares when you're riding over an Andean mountain pass.

Strong, durable and versatile, this is an excellent rear rack.
