Another really well-designed bit of kit from Osprey, the Talon 6 comes with two 570 ml kidney-shaped water bottles which are securely held in place with an elastic cord along with two adjustable compression straps on the outside of the pack to also keep the contents securely in place.

There are two separate zippered compartments and zippered mesh pockets on either side of the waist belt for easy on-the-go access, and the rear panel is extremely comfortable against your lower back thanks to a combination of low profile padding and mesh backing to dissipate heat.

The waist strap adjusts quickly and easily although I would have liked it to be a little more substantial but that’s a minor quibble – in all other respects the Talon 6 is a lovely bit of kit that will be of use for everyone from trail runners to walkers, mountain bikers and skiers.
