The Helly Hansen Jotun Traverse shirt is part of Helly Hansen’s traditional Scandinavian range. Proper, technical outdoor clothing was born in Scandinavia and Helly Hansen has been there since the start - 1877 to be exact, so they should know a thing or two about producing the goods as it were!

Being a traditional shirt the design is check and the fit is loose. The colours are bright and vibrant, with the orange in our slightly misleadingly named 'Tech Navy Check' variant standing out particularly prominently.

The fabric feels soft and almost cotton like against the skin and on a brisk walk through the Cotswold countryside on a warm day the wicking properties of the quick dry fabric did its job of keeping me cool and dry.

The shirt has a particularly high UVA and UVB protective rating of UPF 50+, you could presumably wear the Jotun Traverse in the Kalahari Desert without fear of the sun’s rays penetrating through to the bare skin beneath!

The cut of the shirt is traditional rather than fitted so the more fashion conscious among us should probably keep the Jotun Traverse for its intended purpose - as a technical outdoor shirt.
