Super soft yak wool means it is supremely comfortable and close fitting
The back on ours fell apart with mountain biking over a long period

Made from yak wool, this baselayer from little known brand Kora was a step into the unknown for us. They claim it is odour resistant, wicking  and luxuriously soft, so should be ideal on paper.

In our real world test it certainly proved to be all that, and quickly becomes our go-to baselayer if the weather is chilly. The yak wool fabric really is wonderfully soft and warm to wear, stretching into a cracking fit.

The Shola 230 is quite thick too, yet wicks admirably and keeps us extremely comfortable no matter what level of effort we are putting in.

The only problem comes after around a year of hard mountain biking use where the back of the baselayer literally falls to bits. It is most likely the amount of wear it had underneath a hydration pack combining with so many wash cycles, but something to consider if you wear hydration packs too.
