For summer wear on the mountain bike or touring, you won't get much more comfortable than these decent value offerings from Madison.
The thin and light fabric has a very plush, soft touch and huge amount of 4-way stretch available which endears them to us no end, and a pleasing fit that is somewhere between close and baggy. The elastic waist is adjusted by velcro patches, meaning we only have to tinker once to get the fit right, the elastic taking up the slack from then on, and two hip and two back pockets - all zipped - complete the spec.
Excellent airflow through the wind permeable fabric is helped along by laser cut ventilation holes on the thigh and hips, keeping us nice and cool when the sun shines, so they are strictly summer only.
Our only criticism of the stretch fabric comes on technical ground where, if we are unlucky, the material catches on the saddle when moving around the bike a lot. They just seem to hitch up and not let go, but it is a rare occurrence.
As with all Madison clothing they come with a lifetime guarantee, but note they are outer shorts only, not coming with a liner (Madison also do a Flux Liner for £27)
