The Sherpa Khumbu are well thought out walking trousers that come with muted earthy tones and a four-way-stretch, wrinkle-free fabric that dries quickly.

They are also surprisingly tough for a lightweight material  – Sherpa liken it to ‘elephant skin’ should you be familiar with that… – which means the Khumbu is a good option if you’re walking/trekking through brush or rocky terrain.

Articulated knees and a gusseted crotch further increase the comfort factor, and the tricot-lined waistband is a nice touch, especially if you’re carrying a heavy pack and the waistband is sitting against bare skin.

There are two hip pockets, a rear pocket and a thigh pocket, all with zips, although the opening of the thigh pocket is quite narrow for anyone with big hands and as such can be a tad irritating if you’re scrabbling around trying to access the contents.

However, this was our only minor gripe with what are a very comfortable, good-looking pair of walking trousers; and it’s also nice to find a product that is made in Nepal and for which a donation from each sale is made to various education programmes for Sherpa children.
