Active Traveller reviews the super light and very comfortable North Face Alpine Project jacket

tnf jacket
+
Very light, looks good, feels good
A bit tight across the shoulders

The Alpine Project is made from Gore-Tex Active Shell, which is 30 per cent lighter than other Gore-Tex laminates making this a good option if you’re looking to travel light.

The fabric also has a nice tactile feel, unlike some. The overall fit is quite generous and you get all the standard features – huge zipped handwarmer pockets/vents, fully adjustable hood, pit zips, adjustable cuffs and hem, microfleece chin guard and great looks too.

We really liked it, our only reservation was that it felt a tad tight across the shoulders – you may want to check this before buying.
