Warm Thinsulate insulation
Shapeless, unsupportive uppers

Right, the good points first. The V 200 i uses a combination of waterproof leather uppers, ‘i-Shield’ water and stain resistant technology, a ‘Dri-Tec’ waterproof membrane and 200g Thinsulate insulation to keep your feet warm and dry in inclement conditions. Their OrthoLite sockliners absorb impacts and have anti-odour and anti-microbial properties.

However, the cut of the uppers is rather shapeless and doesn’t hug your feet especially well, to the point that they become a slightly bizarre shapeless lump once you bend them; not only does this look ugly but it’s not especially comfortable on your upper foot.

We’re also not keen on seams on the inside of the forefoot such as that on these boots, and feel that the soles could have had more aggressive lugs. So, although we’re sure they’ll work for undemanding winter users this isn’t a boot we’d use on serious hills in serious winter weather.
