scorpionfish diving azoresDivers looking for a new, relatively untapped destination should head out into the Atlantic, according to one industry expert.

Neill Ghosh, of Original Diving, which offers tailor-made diving holidays in Europe and around the world, is tipping the Portuguese islands of the Azores to become one of the next diving hotspots.

‘It’s just a three-and-a-half hour flight from the UK, it offers world-class diving and hardly anyone knows about it yet,’ says Neill, who reckons divers can expect virtually guaranteed encounters with manta rays, blue sharks and makos at the right time of year.

Add in occasional hammerheads and whale sharks, plus large numbers of dolphins and whales and incredible visibility, and, the Azores have it all.
