OPUS’ revolutionary Folding Camper trailer, which unfolds into a camping platform with two double beds and a large kitchen diner area, recently took TV’s Dragon’s Den by storm.

Following on from the Camper’s previous television appearances on The Apprentice and The Gadget Show, on Sunday 31st January 2016 the innovative Folding Camper entered the Dragon’s Den.

In the words of Dragon’s Den presenter Evan Davis, the camper presented the investors with “A wholly original offering”.

Ultra-lightweight and extremely easy to tow, even with a small car, its low folded profile allows for all-round visibility, so you can hitch up and drive away with confidence. But despite this compact stature it is strong, rugged and cleverly designed, boasting a massive load-carrying platform for adventure toys.

Company directors Jonathan Harrison and Jonathan Schofield pitched the opportunity of investment to Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones, Touker Suleyman, Nick Jenkins and Sarah Willingham; offering 5% equity in exchange for £80,000 in “The world’s most exciting Glamping product”.

The Dragons were keen to try out the OPUS Camper for themselves, and Touker Sulleyman jumped straight for the double bed. All four investors were quick to compliment the OPUS as soon as they stepped inside.

Deborah Meaden’s first words were “Gosh! It’s actually amazing!” and 6ft 7in Peter Jones was clearly impressed by the space on offer as he stated “It’s bigger than I thought… I don’t think I have ever been into a tent or caravan without hitting my head”.

Once seated the Dragons were keen to understand the existing trailer tent market, and it was clear to them that OPUS really is a unique product. Sarah Willingham was first to make an offer of investment as she stated “I really like it… I can completely see who your market is”.

Four Dragons presented investment opportunities for OPUS, including two Dragons making multiple offers, and Peter Jones trying to clinch the deal at the last minute from Deborah Meaden as he said “The product is amazing!”
