On Friday 20th March a solar eclipse plunged parts of Europe into darkness in an event that touched and was witnessed by almost the whole of Britain. To mark the historic event in his own way, Scottish Red Bull athlete and stunt riding biker Danny MacAskill teamed up with photographer Rutger Pauw to capture the moment on Danny's homeland, the Isle of Skye in Scotland. With just one small window of opportunity to get the shot he had dreamed about, Rutger and the team spent days scouring to select the perfect location.

There has been some debate online as to whether the stunning eclipse photo was faked last week but this video clip should end that debate. The short film shows a unique behind the scenes look at how the team found the perfect spot and how they managed to capture one of the most creative shots of the year.

Danny MacAskill has created videos that have been watched by more than 150m people around the world. His latest edit on his home island of Skye in Scotland can be found here (31m views).

One of his first videos, which scooped 34 million views involved him travelling from Edinburgh back to the Isle of Skye and can be found here
