Care Plus Active traveller news pictureTravel healthcare specialists Care Plus have launched a natural range of insect repellents in the UK.
Most insect repellents use DEET to deter biting insects, but Care Plus has used a natural repellent called Citriodiol as the key ingredient instead.

Citriodiol has proved to be highly effective and has the added advantage of being suitable for those with sensitive skin, pregnant women, and children as young as three months old. The anti-insect products provide up to eight hours protection against, mosquitoes, ticks, midges and sand flies and many other biting insects, and a 60ml bottle is sufficient for two to three weeks when used daily.

‘We know that DEET-based anti-insect repellents are highly effective and remain hugely popular,’ said Julian Keeble, owner of Keeble Agencies, the UK distributor for Care Plus. ‘We also know that a growing number of people are looking for more natural products, whether it be in the food they eat, the cosmetics they use, or with products such as ours in the travel healthcare sector. By using citriodiol we have not compromised the effectiveness of our products, but have offered a natural alternative to DEET.’

The range consists of a spray and a compact stick.
