Abergavenny Festival of Cycling

15-17 July

That British Cycling crowned this festival the Best Organized Cycling Event in 2015 speaks volumes for how good a show you can expect. Catering for all cycling fans from beginners to elites, the five-day festival will feature elite road races, the Iron Mountain Sportif, led rides on the Tumble Mountain for mountain bikers, as well as Biking in the Bailey activities for all the family, and stunt riding displays.

Women's Sea Kayak Festival, Isle of Bute

20-22 August

Redressing the balance of testosterone fuelled adventure, this women only sea kayaking festival is in its 5th year. After a year in Devon it is now back on Bute on the Firth of Clyde, in Scotland. On offer is three days of top level female coaching and guiding, with coastal camping, and meals included. Those who want can stay on after the festival for a four-day exploration of the Isles of the Clyde guided by Laura Bennit and Alice McInnes.

Ross on Wye Walking Festival

23 September

This long weekend of walks in and around the historic Herefordshire town of Ross on Wye includes walks that combine river cruises, steam train rides, paddling canoes and visiting famous viewpoints over the River Wye. It also includes the temptingly titled Last Cream Tea of Summer walk.

Isle of Wight Walking Festival

21 October

This is the autumn version of the now famous and hugely popular spring walking festival around and over the chalky hills of the Isle of Wight. National Watersports Festival, Hayling Island

5-7 September

Based on the Blue Flag beach of Hampshire's Hayling Island, this festival sees kayakers, kite-boarders, windsurfers, and stand-up paddle-boarders joint around 10,000 spectators for a weekend of competition, training, partying and watersport fun. Taster sessions are available in all the disciplines, plus races, tuition, with beach parties, live music and a night watersports event put on by the pros.
