Exped have done a great job of packing all the essential features into this ultralight pack, particularly considering that it can be folded away and packed inside its own lid; if you just need a small (15-litre) pack for use on short climbs, easy walks, wandering around town and general travel it makes a great option.

Despite the light weight and packability this is not a fragile beast - it's constructed from hard-wearing 100 D Triple ripstop nylon as well as being PU coated, so your stuff will stay dry inside it (the pack has a 2000 mm water column).

There's one main compartment with an internal sleeve and a zipped lid, with an internal zipped pocket in the lid into which the pack stows, along with a stretch side pocket which will hold a water bottle or rain jacket.

Two daisy chains run the length of the pack for lashing extra gear to, and you get shoulder straps and adjustable chest and waist straps which, although not as comfortable as those on more substantial packs, are still fine given the low weights you'll most likely be carrying in this pack.

Stowing the whole thing back inside the lid is easy enough although most people will probably just bundle it away somewhere convenient when not in use; either way, the Exped Summit Lite is a nifty little pack that should particularly appeal to travellers; and at just 300g it's the lightest on offer here.
