Columbia were good enough to send us two of these tees, one in blue and one in white, both which looked – and literally were – very cool. The cool looks you can see, the technical coolness isn’t quite so obvious, but essentially the Total Zero t-shirt features ‘Omni-Freeze ZERO’ technology built into the fabric which reacts with sweat when you’re working hard to lower the temperature of the material.
In addition the tee also feature Omni-Wick technology which actively breathes and pulls sweat away from your body to keep you dry and cool, as well as offering UPF 50 protection from the sun as well.
Bearing in mind we used the shirts whilst mountain biking in Les Arcs in temperature in the high 20s and fairly humid atmospheric conditions we were impressed by the way to material does actually make you feel cooler when you’re sweating like a fat lad in a bunshop.
Add to that the comfy four-way stretch material – and its antimicrobial properties – and the Total Zero is a great t-shirt for high energy activities in the kind of conditions the UK is (unusually) experiencing at the moment.
