A wonderfully comfortable elastic and lycra waist
Some testers commented they could be higher cut at the waist

If you are on the lookout for a basic pair of cycling shorts, no frills, then Craft might have the very thing for you in the shape of their women's Velo Shorts. Made of lycra, they have a short inseam, low waist and silicon grip print at the leg endings to keep them neatly in place. Craft's own Infinity C3 pad provides the comfort and padding.

They may appear to be a basic pair of shorts, but pulling them on we quickly realise the Velo are anything but. Each detail has been carefully thought through and applied. Take the waistband - each tester has come back enthusing about the way the elastic runs around the back of the waist, but neatly turns to a lycra band at the front. It still supports the short, but doesn't dig in at all when leaning into the bars and flattens the stomach nicely.

We liked the short legs, just a good length for gym work and warm days out on the bike. The soft silicon grip print inside the leg ends holds them in place without causing any hotspots or tightness, while the good quality lycra stretches with every move.

The pad is also superb - quite thick and padded it is useful for even extended rides and gym sessions without causing discomfort.

At the end of the day every girl brought these back described them as some of the comfiest shorts they have ever worn, whether that was underneath tights in cooler weather or down to the gym for a spin session. The eye catching colour just adds a little lift to the look too, so a real winner for us.
