The Fjallraven Funas 25 weighs 1240g without the useful rain cover, so it isn’t the lightest daypack we've tested but it’s still by no means heavy. It also feels very sturdy and supportive in use and the build quality is such that it inspires confidence that it will handle the roughest of treatment.
The back panel is ergonomically designed to prevent overheating, and the pack itself features all you need for a long day in the hills – a large 25-litre top loading main compartment with hydration sleeve (but no hydration port which was a bit irritating), zipped inner pocket and two zipped lid pockets, good-sized expandable side pockets for water bottles and an elastic cord on the front and lid for extra storage.
Add useful touches like the whistle on the chest strap and the reinforced bottom and you have an understated but tough daypack that should see you through many seasons on the hills.
