A lightweight but tough short for long days in the mountains

You will have to go a long way to find a better pair of summer riding shorts than these Crossmax Ultimate. The light fabric used in the construction is virtually dry every time they come out the washing machine, so needless to say they dry very quickly on the trail too when we are unlucky enough to get caught out in the rain.

The design is very plain, without a lot of bells and whistles, buckles and pockets which we actually appreciate. It keeps them light and uncluttered, just a great fitting pair of shorts. The only velcro in evidence cinches the waist up, and the only pockets are 2 small zipped numbers.

It is worth noting that Mavic also offer a seamless liner made of extremely breathable and cool mesh with a superb seat pad. We were sent a pair with our baggies and can vouch they are worth every bit of the £57 asking price.
