It can be frustrating having narrow feet and narrow ankles as the majority of shoes just don't cater for those skinnier of hoof. The Adidas Terrex Agravic with Boa fit dial technology seemed to offer the potential of a really decent personalised fit so we were excited to give these pink ladies a whirl in the hills when they arrived at AT HQ.
Immediate impressions of the 7mm drop Terrex Agravic were of a primo trail runner with all the high tech bells and whistles. Coming in at £129.95 these shoes are playing at the higher end of the trail running shoe offerings as they feature cutting edge tech like the Boa Closure System and rubber outsole from car tyre giant Continental.
I desperately wanted these shoes to fit but sadly they didn't hold my narrow heels no matter how hard I ratcheted up the Boa dial. They just got narrower and narrower at the front with no reflected tightening around the heel. Shame.
In every other way they felt perfect - the roomy toe box allowed for expanding sweaty feet on long runs, the midsole offered noticeable rebound on the trail, and the sock-like construction offered a really reassuring fit and feel.
The Continental rubber outsole with 4mm lugs was certainly grippy on dry rock and slippery gravelly trails but I did find it a little less than brilliant in really wet and muddy terrain. This definitely feels like more of a dry dusty alpine trail shoe than a fell running friend.
If the fit of the Terrex Agravic Boa W works for your foot then it really is game on however narrow heeled runners may want to look elsewhere...
