Described by Deuter as a 'sporty and functional hiking backpack for women', the Futura 26 SL is the perfect day hiking companion.

Available in a choice of colours, all incorporating Deuter's signature yellow flower (distinguishing the pack as female-specific), the Futura 26 SL will appeal to those looking for a stylish, sporty looking pack with real hiking substance.

The Futura 26 SL has all the necessary features you'd expect from a daypack such as hiking pole attachments, separate wet clothes compartment, rain cover, well thought out and positioned storage, hip belt pockets and hydration bladder compatibility so on-trail performance is guaranteed.

What sets it apart however is the priority that has been given to comfort and fit. Take it from us, the Futura 26 SL is one seriously comfortable pack! The women's specific back length means the pack sits exactly in the right place and fit can be customized yet further via the height adjustable sternum strap, padded hip belt and shoulder straps, and the load adjustment straps on the top of the pack. We tested the pack in the regular back length and found it to be just about ok for our 5'6" gear editing frame. If you're any taller, then we recommend taking a look at the longer option.

When it comes to on-trail performance, the stand out feature of the Futura 26 SL is the incorporation of Deuter's all-new Aircomfort Sensic back system. Designed to maximise comfort, fit and ventilation, the Sensic back system combines a steel frame with a mesh net construction designed to increase air flow at the back. Sweaty backs can make hiking a pretty uncomfortable and inefficient experience so the fact that the Aircomfort mesh construction has been proven to reduce perspiration by up to 25% (Research Institute Hohenstein) makes the Futura 26 SL a seriously attractive prospect. Additional benefits of the Aircomfort Sensic back system are the S-shaped Active-Fit shoulder straps (designed to reduce chafing) and lightly padded hip fins and lumbar pads.

With so much tech and comfort for less than £100, the Deuter Futura 26 SL is likely to become one of the top day packs of choice for female hillwalkers this spring/summer.
