Craghoppers new Dynamic range of clothing has an intriguing technology that has scooped awards at Europe’s largest outdoor trade show, ISPO. The Dynamic mesh fabric is designed to reflect the body’s infrared radiation back and thus increase energy and well-being.
This is bleeding edge technology that, if proven could lead to a whole new slew of performance enhancing outdoor clothing. The jacket certainly feels pleasant to wear.
In addition to Dynamic technology the Dynamic jacket has all the usual performance bells and whistles to keep you well protected from the elements when you’re walking, cycling or just out and about.
Craghoppers’ Aquadry membrane is breathable and waterproof to 10k which is enough to keep you dry, even in the worst weather. The stretchy mesh lining adds a touch of warmth on cold days making for a great balance of breathability for active use and general cosiness. The outer material is quiet and has a good amount of 2-way stretch, so it's really comfortable to wear, not just hiking but in general use too. The cut is slightly lose but not baggy, this allows for layering underneath and there is freedom of movement across the whole jacket thanks to sewn in articulation.
The hood works well in a storm, it’s 3-way adjustable so can be fully cinched down, and the zips are all water resistant to stop the gradual creep of water you might otherwise get in properly foul weather. As a batten down the hatches jacket the Dynamic offers full protection.
There are plenty of external pockets for your kit, and these are mesh lined for ventilation in case you start to overheat on your walk. There is also a handy internal zipped pocket which is the perfect size for a wallet or phone.
We love the colour block pattern, which complements the modern cut well, and will probably appeal to a younger audience than Craghoppers are traditionally known for.
Overall, this is a well thought out waterproof jacket that comes in at a really compelling price point compared to the competition, go check it out now.
