In need of some adventure-ready camping gear for this winter? Look no further. We’ve teamed up with Outdoors Magic and Scottish outdoor brand Highlander to offer you the chance at winning their Nap-Pak Arctic inflatable sleeping mat – which has a whopping R-value of 11 – along with their handy Wee Banshee V2 air pump.
Outdoors Magic - our sister title who specialise in outdoor gear reviews - have been using the Nap-Pak Arctic R11 for over a year now and have been very impressed. In fact, they think it might be the best value winter-rated sleeping mat on the market at the moment – with the big added bonus that it’s light and packable too.

OM editor and gear tester Will Renwick said: “This is a sleeping mat that ticks a lot of boxes and strikes a great balance in terms of warmth, weight, packability, and comfort. All in all, I think it offers great value for money. You don’t get many technical lightweight sleeping mats that come in at under £100 – let alone any that offer four-season performance.”
Nap-Pak Arctic R11 Inflatable Sleeping Mat: Key Features
There are two factors that contribute to this warmth. Firstly, it uses interlinked air cell baffles in a honeycomb structure. This type of construction distributes weight evenly, it’s stable at the edges and it insulates well because the small pockets of trapped air reduce convection, minimise cold spots, and maintain even loft under pressure. The bigger factor in this mat’s insulation, however, is the three layers of aluminium film inside which reflect your body heat directly back at you while also totally blocking out the cold from the ground.
