They’ve tested out a lot of Darn Tough’s socks over at Outdoors Magic and can confidently say they’re one of the most reliable sock brands out there.
As you might expect, they are known for the toughness of their socks, as well as the unique seamless construction that makes the fabric comfy, smooth, and very durable. Perfect for outdoor adventuring.
They’re a family-run company too, still based in Vermont, USA, and are really dedicated to producing long-lasting products. So much so, in fact, that their socks have a lifetime warranty. If you have any kind of problem with them, you can simply swap them out for a new pair – no receipt needed. There’s a lot to admire there.
OM editor Will admits, “I’ve no shame in saying that I’ve got a few pairs in my sock drawer that are over five years old and they’re still going strong. They actually don’t look anywhere close to wearing out.”
And while the first ever Darn Tough product was a running sock, they have a much wider variety of options nowadays. From hiking and walking right through to hunting, skiing and snowboarding – there’s a little something for everyone to choose from.
Most recently, OM reviewed the Fastpack Micro Crew socks and were very impressed. They actually included it in our Outdoor 100 gear of the year list for that year. The Hiker Micro Crew socks have also always been a favourite, and OM are currently testing a few up-to-date options this winter. Stay tuned for their verdicts on those!
