Great ventilation, good design
Compression straps a tad fiddly but that really is being picky

Berghaus say that the Trailspeed 30 is their most ventilated rucksack ever, a feat the company has achieved by removing the usual mesh from the back system in order to minimise contact points with the body.

It's a natural evolution from Berghaus' well-established Freeflow packs, and the lack of contact points allows for much better air circulation to your back, resulting, say Berghaus, in body temperature reductions of up to 3C.

The Trailspeed 30 is also pretty light at around 860g, so if you're looking for a daypack for fast, light travel in the hills - and one with a women's-specific fit - this is well worth checking out.

In addition to the above innovations you also get a really well-designed pack, with one large main compartment with a hydration sleeve, a large lid with internal and external zipped pockets, two generously-sized mesh storage pockets on the side and a large external bungee cord for additional storage. There are also two walking pole attachments and side compression straps to lash everything down.

The harness system works well and is fully adjustable, and has a further two zipped pockets on the hip belt, so there's no shortage of external storage space on Trailspeed.

All in all this is a nifty little daypack which will particularly appeal to women on the move in the hills.
