Alf Alderson reviews the Patagonia Torrentshell Stretch Jacket

Freat fit, great looks and stows away easily

The Patagonia Torrentshell Stretch Jacket is a robust ripstop nylon hard shell which uses Patagonia’s waterproof/breathable H2No barrier with a DWR finish to protect you in seriously wet weather.

The Torrentshell has all the features you need for an inclement summer day including an adjustable stowaway hood which fits really well, a microfleece lined collar, an interior storm flap on the main zip, two handwarmer pockets and a chest pocket (all with watertight zips) pit zips and Velcro cuffs and a drawcord hem.

There are stretch panels in the arms and across the shoulders (hence the name) which are great for high energy activities.

It’s also very packable and stows easily, and we liked it very much.
