A windproof chest keeps the chill off, and a flattering fit looks great
Thumbloops a little on the bulky side

Although brought in as a windproof the Mica in fact only has a windproof chest, with the arms and back made of a Roubaix-type fabric. Beautifully soft, stretchy and breathable we find this counters the windproof front nicely and prevents moisture build up perfectly. It also helps to manage temperature well, letting us cool effectively without chilling our core.

A soft, brushed interior feels very inviting indeed and although our testers wear it over long-sleeve baselayers, you could comfortably wear it over bare arms no problem at all.

The sleeves are long and have thumb loops, although most find the loops a little on the bulky side and prefer to leave them off.

Three rear pockets are well received, with the centre one being closed by a strong velcro patch. It is very secure - so secure in fact we need two hands and a good pull to open it.

Without exception everyone is surprised by the very keen price, so we have awarded a maximum value score. A very useful top to have in your armoury.
