The Result Osaka softshell jacket is a great budget buy that despite the low price still comes with most of the features you need in a soft shell.
The fabric is water repellent and breathable as well as windproof, and it’s been combed to give a super soft feel. There are stretch panels under the arms and around the elbows for added comfort when doing high energy activities and you also get two zipped handwarmer pockets and a snug chinguard.
It’s hard to fault all this in such a low priced garment; our only niggle is that the Osaka is quite heavy and bulky compared to other soft shells we’ve reviewed (although that could be rectified to some extent had lighter weight zips been used in the construction of the jacket).
But if weight and bulk are not a consideration for you, and budget is, this has got to be a soft shelll worth checking out.
