Good value and robust
For only a smidge more you can buy a cooler from the Xtreme range

The 36QT Excursion cooler from Coleman is a cool box with a 34l capacity that is designed to stay cool for 2 days.

The 34l capacity is an ideal size for family camping trips and is easily able to swallow a good few days' worth of food and drinks.

The lid is robust enough to be used as a seat which is handy when space is at a premium and the four recessed cup holders are a nice touch if you'd rather it doubled up as a side table.

We used this cool box at the height of the British summer and found the performance to be bang in line with other budget coolers as well as the claimed 26hr cooling performance, this means that, unfortunately, you'll still have to endure the daily chore of changing the ice packs at the campsite shop.

The £40 price tag makes the Excursion pretty good value but if you can stretch to £60+ then we'd recommend saving yourself some hassle by buying a cooler from the Xtreme range and having lovely frozen ice for up to 5 days at a time.
