Straightforward assembly and very sturdy in use
Weak carry bag material and aluminium parts mark up easily

We thought the Sarin would turn up and the package would be massive but it really isn't. Folded up in its carry bag it's easy to sling over your shoulder and the10kg weight makes it pretty straightforward to lug between car and tent.

Easy assembly is a real plus point, as there's no real head scratching or frustration here and everything unfolds and slots into place in a matter of a few minutes.

Storage and preparation space on the Sarin is excellent, with two sturdy shelves on the top. One is easily big enough to prepare food on and there are two shelves under the stove for pots and pans and further hanging shelving which is ideal for storing tinned food and herbs in.

The hanging shelves are cavernous and are equipped with a mesh front which can be zipped shut to prevent any unwelcome midnight snackers or rolled back and secured when in use.

We found that our Campingaz 400 ST double burner stove was a little precariously balanced on the top stove shelf with the windshield of the Sarin attached, but removing the windshield gives a little extra space and the stove then just about sneaks in.

The aluminium finish on the windshield and two lower shelves mark up a little too easily and will start to look weather worn pretty quickly but being aluminium they won't rust so this is a purely aesthetic point.

The only other slight negative worth mentioning about the Sarin is the relatively weak material of the carry bag, which is easily pierced by the shelf clips, so it's worth ensuring that the lower shelves are sandwiched between flatter and softer items when you pack the kitchen up.

In use the Sarin camp kitchen is as sturdy as you could expect or want it to be on normal to rough camping ground and we wouldn't question its longevity thanks to a robust steel frame.
