You're onto a winner as soon as you slip your feet into the Tudela Light. For a start it lives up to its name - at only 980g for a pair (size 7) the boot is way lighter than you'd expect from the rugged and good looking appearance.

Despite the light weight your feet and ankles feel cradled and well-supported, and the durable suede and G-1000 material uppers come with a Gore-Tex membrane to ensure your feet stay dry and comfortable.

The lacing system is fast and efficient and allows you to easily obtain the right balance between a secure, supportive fit of both foot and ankle and enough flex to remain comfortable.

The straight-fit last works well and adds to the comfort factor in that it provides more space for the toes by allowing your big toe to assume a straighter position, and this, along with a 'flex zone' in the forefoot and additional shock absorption in the heel makes for a comfortable boot from the off.

The Tudela's Vibram 'Running' sole has a grippy, high traction profile and a supportive TPU insert along with soft cushioning, making it effective and confidence-inspiring on everything from dry trails to wet grass, and since the cemented construction means the boots can be resoled you don't have to throw them out just because the sole wears down, which is always a good thing with a pair of quality boots.
