Lithium Ion rechargeable battery
Cycling between modes is clunky and noisy
gooutdoors.co.uk

With its 300 lumen maximum output the Coleman Twist+ 300 is a viable option for camping in larger tents.

Although a bit plastic in in finish, the Twist+ 300 has a rugged and robust exterior shell which can withstand drops from 2 metres and is IPX4 water resistant. There is a carry handle one side and a steel hanging clip the other which has a large enough mouth to be useful. Another criticism is that the dial to cycle between modes is a little clunky and noisy but the Twist+ does has some clever features.

These include the twist lock system, which allows you to lock the lantern in off mode so it can't inadvertently be switched on before you get to your site, only for you to find that you have no light when you arrive.

The USB lead and wall plug are housed inside the lantern so that you never risk forgetting them. Plugging in charges the lithium ion battery in around 3 hours, the lantern then lasts around 9 hours in high and around 20 hours in medium mode. This should be good for a week's use on medium during the summer. If you choose to use in high mode you can always recharge from a car mid-week.

Coleman have also thought to include a 1A output to the Twist+ allowing it to be used to charge mobile phones, GPS or other electronic devices, which could be handy but we're not sure we'd choose to drain our main source of light apart from in extreme emergencies!
