We review the Vango 36 LED dynamo lantern, a versatile piece of kit if a little lacking in performance.

Never be stuck without light when camping
Not really bright enough
vango.co.uk

The 36 LED dynamo lantern from Vango retails at just £20. It outputs 60 lumens of light which is just enough for ambient lighting, comes with a rechargeable battery, car charger, mains charger and winder for the dynamo.

The 60 lumen output is rather low in comparison to other lanterns that can be picked up for a similar price but this does make it efficient when powering it using the hand crank dynamo.

The real upside to the Vango lantern is the rechargeable battery that can be charged in such a variety of ways that you should never be stuck without light.

It’s not massively robust and the hanging mechanism doesn’t work in Vango’s own tents (tut tut) but based on its versatility, for 20 quid it’s still decent value.
