The zip failed after only a few rides

Every one of our female testers took to this waterproof jacket on first sight. Our sample came in an understated black, but was lifted out the 'dull' category perfectly by some subtle but effective pink highlighting on the zip to give just a little zing.

The cut was close and flattering, described as a 'performance fit' on the Altura blurb, perfect for spring to autumn on the road as we found there wasn't a lot of room underneath to layer up in the cold. Breathability was good, which was just as well as the plain design doesn't include ventilation options other than the main zip.

A dropped tail, long sleeves and lightweight fabric meant it was ideal for stuffing in a pocket, but still gave excellent coverage and protection when needed. Three pockets across the back finished what is an excellent, lightweight road waterproof for a very reasonable price.

The zip on our sample broke fairly early on. Not great, but the 2 year warranty service was fast and painless and experience of Altura kit suggests this doesn't happen too often.
