The Bridedale Ultra Light is a wool blend sock aimed at trail walking in warm weather.

These socks clearly live up to their name, as soon as you take them out of the pack they feel a lot thinner and lighter than most other walking socks we've tested. Material is a blend of enduro wool, nylon and Endurofil which works well together to provide a comfortable and airy feel.

Cushioning is minimal but the Ultra Lights still work fine with some lightweight trail shoes and you'll be glad of the thin and breathable nature of them when the mercury rises, after all, sweaty feet can quickly lead to soft skin and blisters.

We'd have preferred the cut to be lower for use with shorts and can't quite understand why a warm weather hiking sock should be cut so high but it's a minor gripe in an otherwise good quality and good value hiking sock.
