There are few things we like more than a good pair of technical leggings. When gear manufacturers get them right, they can be the perfect marriage between comfort, performance and looks.

The line between trousers and leggings is a blurry one, but the close cut and stretch material of the Dynamic trousers lands them squarely in hybrid territory at least. They still have a zip, button and hook closure rather than a simple elastic waistband, but the silhouette is classic legging.

The material has a good amount of stretch without feeling lycra-y, and a semi-shiny outward facing, with the inside sporting a micro-fleece lining for added comfort and warmth.

But that's not all. This unassuming navy blue fabric (the only colour these trousers currently come in) is packed with technical features to help you out on the trails, including SolarShield tech to help protect you from the sun's harmful UV rays and moisture-wicking action to keep you fresh and dry.

What makes these trousers, and the entire Dynamic range, special, however, is the inbuilt Dynamic 12000 technology which uses mineral-rich fabric to reflect the body's natural infrared rays back into your skin to help reduce muscle fatigue, improve circulation and even promote faster healing. It's difficult to measure how this works, but we have no complaints after wearing the Dynamic trousers on all-day walks.

Plus, we can't forget to mention that the Dynamics are also part of Craghopper's Mindfully Made collection, which uses recycled materials. 12 plastic bottles were recycled to make one pair of Dynamic Trousers.

As far as pockets go, these trousers aim for capacity over quantity. There are only two - matching zipped thigh pockets with hidden zips and reflective zip pulls - but they are each big enough to very comfortably fit a phone and maybe even a map depending on how it's folded. We would have liked one more pocket, possibly hidden in the waistband or on the back, but we love the size of the ones we have.

Overall, the lightweight feel and body-hugging cut of the Dynamics make them super comfortable to wear and offer outstanding freedom of movement. The skin-tight design might not be everyone's cup of tea, but for those who favour this kind of style, the Craghoppers Dynamic trousers will be a great addition to your outdoor wardrobe.

And even if you do generally lean more towards the traditional trouser cut, we recommend giving these a go anyway. Comfortable, plenty of pocket space and only £55 - what more could you want?
