On test: The Salomon Atlantis half zip fleece, a technical fleece built for hiking.

Overall Score
Lightweight yet warm
Tight fit

The Salmon Atlantis is a technical fleece with a sporty, or some might say, tight fit.

The waffle fleece lining makes the fleece warm yet lightweight and the material wicks moisture away from the body reasonably well. The zip allows you to regulate your temperature and the contrast details on the hem and cuffs add a bit of sporty styling.  The neck baffle comes up nice and high and is just the right diameter to be useful but not constrictive.

There is a single small pocket on the chest which is too small, as well as in the wrong place to be particularly useful. The flatlock seams help to reduce irritation when carrying a pack or during high intensity activity, something that this fleece will encounter a lot of!

The price is at the high end for a half zip lightweight fleece but the quality is definitely there, our only gripe would be that the sizing is not generous enough so worth considering going up a size if you’re ordering online.
