Merino wool helps reduce odour and polyester helps promote wicking
Crew neck could have been a bit higher for cold weather

As thin and light as the Craft baselayer also tested here, the Pearl Izumi differs in that it is made from a blend of polyester and merino wool. With a merino front panel and outer arms there for warmth and odour reduction the rest is a polyester mesh that draws moisture from the skin to reduce that clammy feeling after hard exercise.

A cycling cut means close to skin all over, with a drop back to cover your lower back when in the saddle. We find it excellent - very snug yet unrestrictive on the bike.

The low crew neck isn't as snug as some others, and for winter months we would rather see it being a bit higher, but for moisture wicking in cool to mild weather it is perfect and performs superbly.
