Sub Zero soft shell

This Sub Zero jacket is a no-frills, British-made soft shell at a reasonable price which will work for most outdoor activities.

It features a highly windproof laminate, soft and snug fleece inner fabric and a decent amount of stretch thanks to its 3 per cent Elastane content, and it can be bought in male and female fits (both are the same price).

The jacket’s plain but simple looks will appeal to those who don’t feel the need to make a fashion statement on the hills, and the features are equally simple consisting of a full-length YKK zip with thick wind baffle, a high, soft mock suede collar, adjustable Velcro cuffs with rubberised tabs, dropped rear for lower back protection, two zipped mesh hand pockets which also provide ventilation and a decent sized sleeve pocket.

I normally take a Large in clothing and found the fit of the jacket just a little too snug – it was a bit tight around the neck and chest and the sleeves were a tad too short – so you may want to go up a size.
