They’re all problems us here in the UK have to consider. It’s been a fair while since the days of jumping fences and avoiding spotlights to ride the local skate spot. Nowadays all you’ve got to do, weather permitting, is find a smooth surface and improvise some features. If you’re in the UK, however, ‘weather permitting’ is usual an obstacle in itself. So what better way to get your daily fix of metal-sliding than heading to an indoor skatepark – but which one to choose? Whether you’re a pro like Danny Way or a skateboarding novice, here are a few of the best weather-proof skateparks in the country you can’t deny.1) Ramp 1 Indoor Skatepark, Warrington
Located halfway between Manchester and Liverpool, Ramp 1 is a pretty easy journey for city-dwellers and locals alike. It caters for everyone with some awesome features, including a 165ft long plaza section and 112ft bowl.
The simple beginner section boasts a ton of features to jib on and gain confidence before moving onto bigger stuff…
….including the pro-standard rhythm section, perfect for getting some huge airtime and stomping landings. If that’s a bit much then you can get some Bob-Burnquist style air on the airbag.
A 2.5 hour session here will only set you back between £6.50 on a weekday and £8.50 on a weekend. So it’s not bad value for money, considering the huge variety of obstacles to ride.

2) Bay Sixty6 Indoor Skatepark, London
Nike SB recently refurbished this place, so BaySixty6 rides like never before.
With a huge variety of features, dedicated skateboard nights and proper girls-only evenings so the ladies can have their own space, this park caters for all.
The park is ‘indoors’ but only in that it has a roof and no walls. So it’s dry while also retaining a proper urban street vibe about it.

3) Rush Indoor Skatepark, Stroud
There’s big skateparks, and then there’s Rush Skatepark. The place is gigantic. 40,000 square feet of smooth tarmac and hot jib features make this West Country playground one of the largest in Europe.
The bowl/rhythym section has a million lines to choose from and can result in some insane combos! If you still need to nail those big airs, there’s also a resi section for you to practice sticking those landings.
Non-members can ride the park for £8.50 per session. Not too shabby at all.

4) Mount Hawke Indoor Skatepark, Cornwall
The South West have their very own slice of skate heaven in the form of Mount Hawke Skatepark just down the coast from Newquay. What better place to surf in the morning and skate in the afternoon?
Mount Hawke has an abundance of decent features and they’re always adding more!
The street section has loads of features for all abilities and the park have dedicated BMX and skate sessions so you won’t get cut up by a million kids on scooters every time you drop in.
What’s more, a whole day session here is only £8, so it’s well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

5) Rockcity Indoor Skatepark, Hull
Believe it or not, but Hull has recently joined the ranks of such esteemed world cities as Istanbul, Paris, Madrid, Prague and Amsterdam to be chosen as the 2017 European Capital of Culture.
Obviously a key influence on the selection was this North East gem, Hull’s very own Rockcity Skatepark.
With an array of features, Rockcity has escalated from a just a half pipe in 1995 to the UK’s largest rhythm section and the largest plaza area as well as a ton of rails, transfers, ledges and banks, a foam pit and resi jump box, just like the Nitro Circus guys use. There is something in the cultural mecca for everyone!
A three-hour session will set you back the fair sum of £10 for non-members but given the vast floorspace, you’re almost guaranteed to be hitting fresh lines all the time.
