If you’ve always wanted to have your bed replaced with a mechanical metal bunker, this ingenious invention will be so far up your street it’s probably going to start delivering your mail and leaving your Amazon parcels with a neighbour when you’re not in. If there’s a safer thing to sleep on than a bed that at the drop of a hat turns into a makeshift emergency shelter with water, gas masks, and first-aid kits stored within it…we’ve yet to see it.
As some keen internet observers have already spotted, this video does raise a few questions. Firstly, what happens if your feet stick out the end of the bed? Secondly, what happens if you’re sat up in bed reading when the earthquake strikes? Thirdly, what happens if you have a habit of sneezing loudly? So many questions, no way of answering them.
