Kendal mountain festival posterThe annual Kendal Mountain Festival takes place in the Lake District this weekend. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy films, speakers, competitions and specialist sports nights at this four-day event.
At the heart of the festival’s programme is the mountain film competition. More than 50 films will be screened from around the world, and there are 10 prizes up for grabs.

Speakers include Olympic gold medal-winning triathlete Alistair Brownlee, who will be part of the Endurance Sport session presented by Adidas, and stand-up comedian Ed Burne, known for his turns on Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo, but also an outdoor enthusiast and Munro-bagger.
