Try canoeing at Keswick Mountain FestivalLearn your climbing ropes, make a splash or have a dabble with a paddle - the Keswick Mountain Festival is one of the largest outdoor and adventure sports festivals in the UK. 

Set in the heart of the Lake District, it inspires thousands of visitors to get into the great outdoors, try new activities and enjoy exciting experiences. With more than 150 activities and events over five days, the Festival offers an exciting programme for all ages and abilities.

There are triathlons and trail races, cycle sportives and open-water swimming to get your heart pumping, plus an amazing line-up of speakers to entertain you as you catch your breath. TV presenter and marine enthusiast Monty Halls will be headlining the Saturday evening, and for the climbers and explorers among you, mountaineers Simon Yates, Andy Kirkpatrick, Sir Chris Bonington, Nick Bullock and Alan Hinkes will be taking the stage.

Other amazing speakers include Paralympic medalist Karen Darke, BBC documentary maker Mark Beaumont and one of the UK's top cyclists Graeme Obree.

New for 2013 is a film evening, which includes a screening of climbers Pete Whittaker and Tom Randall’s adventures and experiences in Crack Climbing. Plus the Festival Bike Night will be showing the latest films from the sport and the designer of the 7stanes mountain bike trails in Scotland, Andy Hopkins, will be offering a fascinating insight into ‘A Day In The Life Of A Trail Builder’.

The Festival Village is open from 17 - 19 May and is packed full of have-a-go activities including climbing walls, paddling taster sessions, bike demo teams and the amazing bike airbag, plus stands, music and a fantastic atmosphere.
